Day 6 - Ione, WA. To Sandpoint, ID

We crossed into our second state today and Terry has a picture to prove it. It was a long 90 mile ride but was very beautiful along the Pend Oreille River into Sandpoint. Tomorrow is a much needed rest day and by Monday evening we hope to be in Libby, Montana. Noah had tire problems which is to be expected since he decided not to change his treads until well beyond the 2000 mile mark.
Short rest stop in the Pend Oreille Valley with Terry, Carol and Tim
Terry's in Idaho but where is everyone else?

Across Pend Oreille Lake
Noah's tire flatted for the second time.

Day 5 - Sherman Pass

Our last big climb for a while for which we are thankful. We rolled into Colville in temps pushing 100. Tomorrow we ride to Sandpoint along the Pend Oreille River.

Day 3/4 - Winthrop to Republic

We continue the heavy climbing and are over heating in 90+ temperatures.  Yet, we are all in good spirits and drinking gallons of water.  Here are a few pictures to prove we climbed several mountains.

I see bikes but where are Tim and Scott?

Day 2 - Marblemount to Winthrop

Enough said!  Looking back, this was a grueling day. It proved one of the hardest days of riding and made us wish we had more time to train. Our muscles burned with every pedal stroke. The last ten miles up to Washington Pass were "Thrill of victory, agony of defeat" type stuff.

Day 1 - Deception Pass to Marblemount

We had an excellent first day with perfect weather and awesome scenery from the shores of Fidalgo Island to the foot hills of the Cascade Mountains at Marblemount. There was plenty of great riding for 75"ish" miles.  We dipped our back tires in Puget Sound where there were lots of folks taking pictures.

A Recent Training Ride to Woodinville on the Burke Gilman

So uploading video to a blog takes a couple of steps.  I found transferring the file to my Macbook made things faster.  But then I had to compress the file.  Whew, made it.  We ride very fast!!

We're sooooo close . . .

Yesterday was bike cleaning day.  A more detailed map of our first week's route follows:
